Six films about living music 5: A New Paintbrush and a Different Palette
Colour has always been important to the musical creator. The deep hues of a string orchestra, or the warm tones of woodwind. But only since the war, with magnetic tape and micro-electronics, have composers used colour alone. Tim Souster is one of Britain's foremost electronic composers. His range has been wide, from working with Stockhausen to creating the score for Hitchhiker's Guide.
