This is the first time a crown green pairs tournament has been seen on BBC television, and it brings together the top 16 bowlers in the game today, with total prize money of £4,800 -the winners receiving £1,000 each.
The draw for the series has many fascinating matches, and in the first quarter-final, the favourites BRIAN DUNCAN (BBC2 Top Crown Singles and Waterloo Handicap title holder) and JIM COLLEN (winner, 1975 John Player and Waterloo Handicap) take on a formidable partnership, TONY POOLE and FRANK BRITTON.
