A musical extravaganza embodying all the spectacular showmanship which symbolised the name of Ziegfeld: sumptuous sets and costumes, beautiful girls, and a series of star turns.
MGM followed their successful film biography, The Great Ziegfeld, with this spectacular revue which opens with the great show-man in Heaven, recalling his past successes and planning just one more, even greater show, including Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly in a Gershwin number; bathing-star Esther Williams in a fantastic under-water ballet; and Judy Garland in a burlesque of a Hollywood star.

A Personal Statement by Milton Friedman 4: Created Equal
Wherever the free market has been permitted to operate, the ordinary man has been able to attain levels of living never dreamed of before,' says Professor Milton Friedman. 'Nowhere are the rich richer and the poor poorer, than in those societies that do not permit the free market to operate.' In a special film report MILTON FRIEDMAN argues his case that if society puts equality before freedom, then one ends up with neither. And in the studio, Peter Jay chairs a discussion between Milton Friedman and Nigel Law son, MP, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, Neil Kinnock and Professor Maurice Peston.

Like all Antonioni's work Zabriskie Point is a highly-personal, demanding film, an uncompromising, frank look at rebellious American youth in the psychedelic 60s.
