A series of six films

'Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave' is a famous injunction of Muhammed.

The film shows the large and beautiful colleges which led to the establishment of what are probably the oldest universities in the world. Two other important institutions also passed from Islam to Europe: the observatory and the hospital. Islam's contribution to medicine was particularly great, and today an interesting revival of traditional Islamic medicine is taking place in Pakistan.

Threatened with the encirclement of his land by more and more of Hornblower's factories, Hillcrist, the local squire, preserves an aristocratic calm. But his wife reacts differently, and her retaliation almost ends in tragedy.

"More than half a century after its first appearance The Skin Game remains an absorbing, gripping drama which, despite the occasional hint of melodrama, still works wonderfully well today..." (Daily Telegraph)
"This is a lovely production... more, more, I cry..." (Daily Express)
