A series of five new films which concentrate on a few hours of intense activity.

15 August 1972 - a day of reckoning right at the start of the new' soccer season.
For their first home match, Ipswich Town must play nearby Norwich City. But this is more than a local derby: Norwich have just won promotion to Division 1, and this is the first time the two clubs have ever faced each other in the senior league.
This film follows the events at Ipswich in the hours that lead up to the kick-off, as club officials grapple with an expected record crowd; the police deploys its strength to keep the rival fans apart; and Bobby Robson, Ipswich's team manager, breathes fire into the 11 men on whom rests the honour of all Suffolk.

Arthur Negus visits Osterley Park House in Middlesex, a superb example of the work of Robert Adam, who not only re-shaped the house, originally built in Elizabethan times, but designed all the decor and the furniture, which has been rearranged as it is believed Adam intended.

The modern home is usually bombarded with words - television, the telephone, radio and newspapers. Yet families often find it difficult to communicate on a personal level: husbands and wives who live under the same roof sometimes don't, won't or can't talk to each other.
They may share their children, meals, even the same bed, and yet one partner has nothing to say to the other. How do two people with so much in common get to a point where there is no verbal communication? What keeps these silent couples together?
Jeanne La Chard and a Man Alive film team have been talking to the husbands and wives who are not on speaking terms.
