Television has become the window on the world for millions. And each national television network sees the world differently from any other. How different these national viewpoints are can only be examined on Europa, which every week shows film reports by European television networks on events around the world.

Mac at 83
'A very low calling really' is how Mac describes the job of theatrical dresser when he took it up in 1903. Since then he's been dresser to some of the most famous British actors, including Fred Terry and Martin Harvey, and has looked after Sir John Gielgud for the last 28 years. Tonight, introduced by Sir John Gielgud, Mac talks to Patrick Garland about some of the things he remembers in his long life in the theatre.

Sock It To Me
'Sock it to me' is the title of the new ballet by the Netherland Dance Theatre, which had its world premiere at Sadler's Wells last week. It is based entirely on 'soul' music by James Brown, Santana, Herbie Mann, and Steve Miller. Review filmed the ballet company during rehearsals in Holland with Hans van Maanen, one of Europe's most inventive choreographers.
