Upon the unpredictable, reef-strewn Caribbean once sailed the legendary galleons of the Spanish treasure fleets. Of the riches Plundered from the New World, more than £200 million in bullion and precious stones plunged to the bottom of the sea. Now, for the first time in the long voyage of his research vessel Calypso, Jacques Cousteau and his men assemble a sophisticated arsenal of deep-sea salvage equipment. This includes a temperamental excavator, which they call the 'monster' and which they use to sift 300 tons of coral debris in their hunt for... Sunken Treasure

The city of Dublin has no concert hall, but if you earn your living as an acknowledged composer, you pay no income tax. Two extremes in a city that has just held its second Festival of 20th-century Music.
Electronic instruments don't produce music at the touch of a button: they are tools for musicians to use. Music Now goes to New York to look at the latest device to invade the field, the Moog Synthesizer, and see what composers are making of the technological material of our time.

'The rich man in his castle and the poor man at his gate' was how it used to be on the old country estates, and there are still a few people who remember what it was like.
Minterne, in Dorset, the home of the Digby family since 1765, managed to uphold this tradition until the 1930s. With the aid of old film, and the memories of the Bailiff, the Carpenter, the Post-mistress, the Head Gardener, a Groom, a Housemaid, a Farm Hand, and a Woodman - as well as Her Ladyship and her son - we learn of a way of life that will never return.
