A programme for children at home.

It's Springtime - so in Play School there are Spring flowers for "Ring-a-Ring-a-Roses"; the Farmer is in his Dell again, and of course there's the Spring Cleaning to be done. Peter Rabbit's hutch gets swept out on Wednesday, and Nancy Quayle tells a favourite Mr. Duster story. On Friday through the windows you can visit the country and go shopping in a donkey cart.
Today's story is called "Shetland Peg" by Joanna Stubbs.

A documentary series that looks at our changing attitudes to the countryside.

A waiting land, waiting for sun, for harvest, for trippers. A mixture of bingo slate, landladies, rubber suits, surfers, farmers; and the most ancient religious ceremony still practised in England. A mixture that confuses the eye and mind-yet is England today.

[Starring] Frederick Jaeger as Walter, Eileen Atkins as Eileen, Derek Smith as Ted,
John Nettleton as Patterson, Nancie Jackson as Mrs. Patterson, Roger Mutton as Watkins

Walter Hoermann is a German businessman visiting the English branch of his firm. A keen amateur photographer, he prefers to observe life rather than get involved in it. Visiting an East End pub he is picked up by Eileen, for whom he develops an obsessive passion. She appears to encourage this, but she and her brother Ted are really playing their own game and their sinister purpose is gradually revealed.
Derek Smith is a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company
