Gordon Wilkins covers the world of motoring.

Alex Moulton is the man behind the biggest revolution in bicycles since the penny-farthing a century ago. His Moulton mini-bike, with its small wheels and rubber springs, is now being made by the largest bicycle manufacturer in the world. On the opening of the International Cycle and Motor-Cycle Show this week, Wheelbase visits Alex Moulton at home in Bradford-on-Avon, and examines his success both in bicycle design and in the development of rubber car suspension for the BMC Mini, 1100 and 1800.
