In 1911 Mahler died, leaving his Tenth Symphony unfinished. The composer's sketch was later filled out, and the result was hailed as a great work.
Tonight's Workshop retraces the story of this symphony and of how the performing version of it was compiled by the English musician Deryck Cooke with Eugene Ormandy who conducts the London Symphony Orchestra (Leader,John Georgiadis) and the conductor of the first performance Berthold Goldschmidt who worked with Deryck Cooke.
