"Listen to the train running by,
Clickety clack - Clickety clack,
Listen to the wheels how they fly,
Clickety clack - Clickety clack".
This is part of the poem which opens Play School each day this week, and as well as making a train with Useful Box items today, Gordon and Miranda try an experiment on Friday with two different toy trains.
The picturebook on Tuesday is "The Story of the Little Red Engine" by Diana Ross, with pictures by Leslie Wood; and for dressing-up Miranda will play a game of matching the right hat to the right coat.
Nancy Quayle, this week's story-teller, has just returned from a visit to Canada and America, and her three stories will be about some of the people she met and the places and animals she saw there.

A review of the sciences.

For their work on penicillin, the drug which saved so many lives in World War II, three men were awarded the Nobel Prize. Tonight's film looks at one of these men, Professor Ernst Chain.
It also looks at the remarkable growth during this century of biochemistry and at some of the unusual research in progress in Professor Chain's new £1,500,000 Biochemistry Department at Imperial College.
Commentary spoken by Andrew Faulds.
