West Cork Chamber Music Festival
1/4. Sean Rafferty is looking out over the bay at Bantry, where each year the West Cork Chamber Music Festival takes place at Bantry House. This series begins with two very different pieces of Czech music today: Dvorak's Piano Quartet is a sonorous and expansive masterpiece whereas Schulhoff's first quartet dates from the early 1920s, and it blazes with Czech and Slovak folk rhythms. Each piece is introduced in conversation with the performers.
