A major dramatisation by Robert Forrest of Ford Madox Ford's quartet of novels, published between 1924 and 1928. Christopher Tietjens, the scion of an old and wealthy family of Yorkshire gentry, begins his privileged but troubled pre-war career as a young government statistician. How will he cope with the mud and terrors of the Great War trenches, followed by the radically changed social climate of the post-war years?

In January of this year, 11 of the finest amateur choirs in the land gathered at the Blackheath Concert Halls, south London, to take part in a special UK round of the international choral competition. It was a unique occasion more notable for the excellence of the standard of singing and the range of musical styles on offer than for the fierce heat of competition.
