George Malcolm
From the second half of the last century George Malcolm became one of Britain's best known harpsichordists. A pioneer in the revival of early music, he was also a natural communicator and made many radio broadcasts. Simon Heighes looks back on Malcolm's careerwith a sequence of recordings from the BBC Archives featuring music by D Scarlatti, Arne, Couperin, Bach and Purcell.

Rodney Milnes talks to Josephine Barstow about the demanding role of Amelia in Verdi's Un Ballo in Maschera, an opera inspired by the assassination of the 18th-century Swedish KingGustavus III. The musical excerpts are taken from the famous 1989 Vienna State Opera recording made shortly before his death by Herbert von Karajan , with Josephine Barstow as Amelia and Placido Domingo as the doomed count.

Bob Dylan will be 60 on 24 May- quite an age in the pop world, yet his new work is as individual as the classic songs from his youth, like Subterranean Homesick Blues or Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands. For Christopher Ricks , he is one of the greatest artists alive today and, listening closely to songs throughout Dylan's career, he puts him - as Dylan's pseudo-rival John Keats hoped to be - "among the poets".
