Michael Berkeley 's guest today is Karen Armstrong , a former Roman Catholic nun who left her order in 1969 for a career as a teacher and writer. She is considered one of the foremost commentators on religious affairs in Britain and the USA, and her books include A History of God, A History of Jerusalem and the recently published The Battle for God, a study of religious fundamentalism. Her musical choices include an excerpt from the Koran, a Gregorian chant, instrumental pieces by Bach, Beethoven and Mozart, and a song by Bob Dylan.
