For 50 years, the Dartington
International Summer School has invited all comers to participate in unfettered music making. Both a school and a festival, professional and amateur, and international and local, it embraces music in all its forms in a Utopian atmosphere of learning and experimentation within the idyllic surroundings of the estate in Dartington, Devon. Humphrey Carpenter presents an evening to mark the summer school's golden jubilee.
