- The first of Radio 3's morning broadcasts from the Queen's
Hall is given by the young Danish baritone Boje Skovhus and pianist Helmut Deutsch. Their programme includes Schumann's Liederkreis, Op 24 and songs by Schubert and Strauss. Presented by Brian Morton.

Ravel re-creates the obsessive insistence of the dance, and Rodrigo revisits the elegant spring palace of the kings of Spain. Gerhard - whose centenary falls this year - contributes a chilling, impressionistic setting of Camus's story La Peste.
