Cheltenham, as part of the town's Jazz Festival. The performers were Benny Golson , Chico Freeman , Arthur Blythe and Nathan Davies (saxophones), Kirk Lightsey (piano),
Buster Williams (double bass) and Ed Thigpen (drums). During the interval, Alyn Shipton talks to the four saxophonists about the formation of the band and their individual careers - all are leaders in their own right. The programme includes John Coltrane 's s To hear a teardrop in the rain and Buster Williams ' Toku-do.
