Igor Stravinsky's great neoclassical morality tale in a new production by Matthew Warchus for Welsh
National Opera. Based on a series of paintings by Hogarth and with a libretto by W H Auden and Chester Kallman , the opera portrays a young gentleman's gradual descent into madness. Watched over by his beloved Anne, and his sinister manservant Nick, Tom Rakewell comes into an inheritance, squanders his money on whores and gambling, and ends up in Bedlam.
