The first of two comedies by Thomas Otway, adapted for radio by Peter Barnes.
With Denis Quilley as Beaugard, a Captain and Gentleman, John Rowe as Courtine, a Captain, Dilys Laye as Lady Dunce, a married 'widow', Sarah Badel as Sylvia, a virgin, Peter Woodthorpe as Sir Jolly Jumble, a pimp, Arthur Lowe as Sir Davy Dunce, a cuckold.

1678: the Dutch wars are over and London is full of disbanded Army Officers looking for money, trouble, sex and fun The play follows the exploits of two such officers and their valiant efforts to avoid the ignominious clutches of matrimony without in any way depriving themselves of the pleasures and dangers of cuckoldom.
