Manchester United travel to either Hungary or Croatia for this Uefa Champions' League third qualifying round first-leg match, as they look to make amends for last season's disappointments. Rio Ferdinand has made the £30 million trip across the Pennines to sure up the defence, while Roy Keane will put his controversial sending home from the World Cup behind him to lead the team once more.
The last time United ended up without a trophy was 1997/8, and then they went on to win the treble the following season, a campaign that also started with a Champions' League qualifier against eastern European opponents. Is that a good omen for this evening's game? Kickoff is at 7.45pm.
Introduced by Gary Lineker with Alan Hansen. Commentary by John Motson and Trevor Brooking.
