The first of a six-part series from the producer of The Vet and The Doctor, following the dramatic, dangerous, and often humorous life of Roger Nowell, fisherman and modern-day buccaneer.

The trawler William Sampson Stevenson sets out from Newlyn in Cornwall, to encounter storms, a near miss with a tanker, an engine failure and a ghostly skin diver. For ten days at a time, Roger Nowell and his crew live on board, prowling the western coasts in search of fish. At sea he battles against severe weather, poor catches and official snooping, while at home waits partner Nell, daughter Sophie and an unwelcome visitor from the Inland Revenue.
