A season of films from the Serengeti by the celebrated cameraman Hugo van Lawick.
Wild dogs are fierce and effective predators. With superb teamwork, they are fast and have enormous stamina.
However, there is another side to their character. At the centre of this story is the struggle between two sisters - Alpha, the dominant dog, and Beta, a submissive sister.
Alpha, who already has pups of her own, decides to steal Beta's. All of Beta's attempts to retrieve her pups seem doomed to failure. Hugo van Lawick captures this real-life drama against the backcloth of Africa's savage Serengeti.
