Audrey Slaughter knows there is no shortage of glossy magazines for women, but she was certain there was room for just one more.
In the 60s she succeeded with Honey magazine; in the 70s she scored again when she launched Over 21.
Last year against some of the best advice, she started a magazine for another new market: career women.
And she risked her home - and a good deal else besides.

Australian novelist Peter Carey has emerged as one of the most original and energetic young writers of recent years. In his hugely successful Illywhacker, shortlisted for last year's Booker Prize, Carey transforms the reality of his native country into an extraordinary panorama of nightmare and surreal comedy. In this documentary Carey himself is the guide through the magical landscapes of his work, visiting the real-life places that inspired him and talking about his early life, his view of the crazed world of advertising where he still works, and his own status in contemporary literature.
With extracts from American Dreams, War Crimes, The Shadow Factory, sequences from a new feature film of his novel Bliss, and readings from Illywhacker by actor Les Foxcroft. Illywhacker means trickster, and Carey describes Australian history in the words of Mark Twain : 'It does not read like history, but like the most beautiful lies.'
