The Secrets of Samarra
In a secret desert factory near the town of Samarra, Iraq is mass-producing deadly nerve gases to use against Iran as it prepares for a final offensive in the Gulf War.
Robert Harris reveals the front company used by Iraq to acquire its chemical weapons arsenal, and the western businessmen who supplied the raw materials. With at least 20 countries known to be acquiring poison gas, Panorama also investigates the alarming proliferation in chemical weapons - 'the poor man's atomic bomb'.
