Evelyn Glennie , along with 600 other students at the Royal Acadamy of Music, London, is studying to become a musician. She has had to learn to 'hear' and play in a special way - because she has been profoundly deaf since the age of 12. Music is Evelyn's life whether it is developing her talent in percussion and piano, introducing deaf children to the joys of making music, or playing before a Royal audience in a performance which prompted Sir Georg Solti to predict an exciting future for her.
'All I want is to be heard, to be judged on my ability like any other musician.' Film editor GRAHAM DEAN

The Mission
This long-awaited epic film from director Roland Joffe and producer David Puttnam , set in 18th-century Paraguay, tells a story of the persecution and cultural exploitation of the Indians by the invading Spaniards.
Its stars are Robert De Niro and Jeremy Irons but the most crucial piece of casting for Joffe was to find a group of Indians to play the massacred Guarani tribe. After months of searching through often unexplored tracts of South America he came upon the Waunana people in the heart of the Colombian rain forests. At first apprehensive, they finally agreed to take part in this totally alien and extraordinary venture.
Omnibus looks at the making of The Mission through the eyes of the Waunana Indians, whose own contemporary problems have disturbing parallels with the tragic history of the people they play, for the issues of The Mission still resonate throughout Latin America today. Film editors
