In this hilarious film version of the TV series, habitual prisoner and eternal optimist Norman Fletcher is doing porridge again - detained at Her Majesty's pleasure at Slade Prison. A celebrities-v-prisoners football match is planned to provide cover for an escape attempt in which Fletcher and his young cell-mate become unwillingly involved. In his last film appearance, Richard Beckinsale co-stars as the irrepressible Lennie Godber.
