The chimes of Big Ben ring in the New Year and Old Father Time lights a beacon at St Katharine s, one of more than 160 throughout England. Sir Ranulph Fiennes is on board RRS Discovery and New Year messages come from Thora Hird , Patrick Moore , Sir Rex Hunt and The Rev David Cooper , Padre of 2nd Parachute Battalion.
