continues the season of British films from the 40s and 50s. Starring Basil Radford
Bernard Miles Kenneth More
When a workman is sacked by the owner of a Northern engineering company, his fellow workers call a strike. In desperation the boss tells the men to run the factory themselves - an idea they happily accept. Despite some revolutionary equipment and a new-found enthusiasm for their work, problems arise at shop floor and the 'new management' level. Bernard Miles 's film remains one of the liveliest and most honest films of the post-war years, still remarkable for its topicality.

Six films of early exploration - introduced from the Royal Geographical Society by Duncan Carse 2: Across Darkest Africa (1924)
A historic record of the first motorised crossing of the African continent by the French Citroen Expedition of 1924. The pith-helmeted explorers, the labouring vehicles, and the country and people of Africa in the 1920s are all vividly captured in this film.

Tragedy in Northern Ireland has seemed an all too familiar news headline since the present strife began. But behind the tragic deaths are the many untold stories of those who survive.
An old news film gives the bare outline of two brothers found shot dead; another unsolved sectarian crime for the police, but a personal and unforgettable nightmare for a mother. In this Everyman film Joan Orr tells her own story, of her hopes and fears during that night in 1972 when her family became news headlines; how subsequently tragedy turned into a kind of hope, and she found the faith to survive with the help of a group of Belfast women who crossed the religious divide to share grief.
