Louis Armstrong, who died ten years ago this month, was arguably the foremost genius of jazz music. A natural and uniquely gifted musician, he was a greater influence on jazzmen of his own and succeeding generations than all his contemporaries put together. He was also a peerless entertainer and an incomparable ambassador for the music he loved. This programme is a celebration of the music of Louis Armstrong, of whom Dizzy Gillespie said 'Without him, there wouldn't have been any of us.' Written and presented by Mike Hennessey.
