Released from prison after a ten-Year sentence, J. W. Coop is determined to resume his rodeo career and to win the national championships. His biggest problem is to beat Billy Hawkins , the champion, but for J. W. this is one fight he would rather die than lose.
Cliff Robertson stars as the rodeo rider in the film which he directed from his original screenplay.
