A five-part series
Should Izaac Walton's ghost be watching The Fishing Race, he'll be nothing short of appalled.
Over three gruelling days last summer, six of his wayward disciples fished non-stop, day and night, to catch as many different species as possible. In a mixture of Piscatorial Olympics and Monte Carlo Rally, the three two-man teams drove themselves to exhaustion sweeping across southern England in pursuit of everything from minnows to piranhas. They were after the smallest trophy ever given by the BBC - The Golden Maggot.
