Feature films with suspense, danger, excitement
starring Stephen McNally, Richard Egan, Alexis Smith, Keith Andes., Jan Sterling,
Arthur Hunnicutt, Paul Kelly, Robert Paige

A desperate fugitive holds a group of hostages in the Nevada desert in an area about to be devastated by a nuclear test explosion.
Tonight's movie was the first feature to be directed by actor Dick Powell. Known in the 1930s as a song-and-dance man, Powell switched in the 1940s to 'private eye' roles; probably his most notable characterisation in this genre was in the Raymond Chandler story Farewell My Lovely. Another example, Cry Danger, was last week's Midnight Movie.
