A talk on the work of Gertrude Rachel Levy, classical scholar and orientalist, author of The Gate of Horn. Miss Levy's new book, The Sword from the Rock, on the epic and the concept of the hero, was published last month.

Francis Chagrin's Bagatelles are his most recent work; completed last year, they are three contrasted pieces in a contemplative mood, the last being somewhat more aggressive in character.
Daniel Jones, who studied at the University of Wales and at the Royal Academy of Music, has written a large number of works. These include eight string quartets, three symphonies, and a sonata for three timpani, which created great interest when it was performed last year at a concert of the Twentieth-Century Music Society.
