(concert continued)
Francis Chagrin's Bagatelles are his most recent work; completed last year, they are three contrasted pieces in a contemplative mood, the last being somewhat more aggressive in character.
Daniel Jones, who studied at the University of Wales and at the Royal Academy of Music, has written a large number of works. These include eight string quartets, three symphonies, and a sonata for three timpani, which created great interest when it was performed last year at a concert of the Twentieth-Century Music Society.
