at the BBC Theatre Organ
Kenneth Bygott made his first appearance in public as a pianist at the age of eleven. He began studying the church organ when he was fourteen, and held his first church appointment a year later.
In 1926 he first became a cinema organist, and was appointed solo organist at St. George's Hall, Bradford, where he stayed for four years.
From 1930 to 1934 he was at the New Victoria Cinema, Bradford, and was then transferred to the Regent Cinema, Bournemouth, where he still is. Thus he has done nearly twelve years' service with the Gaumont-British circuit.
He first broadcast as a pianist and an 'uncle' from the old Leeds studios about, twelve years ago.

Tonight in commemoration of the year in which he made his concert debut in Dublin, John McCormack will come to the microphone for his first studio broadcast. Just over a week ago he finished his formal tour with a concert at the Albert Hall. 1903 may be held as the year in which the new century, with all its implications, began to get into its stride. King Edward made his historic tour of Europe during which he visited Paris and inaugurated the Entente Cordiale. In that same year Madame Curie succeeded in isolating the first piece of radium, and gained the distinction of being the first woman to receive the Nobel Prize, which she won in conjunction with her husband. Perhaps, however, the most significant event of the year was the first aeroplane flight, in which Orville Wright stayed in the air for twelve seconds, at Kittyhawk, North Carolina.
