Many listeners will look forward to another discussion between those two big broadcasting personalities, F. H. Grisewood , the enthusiastic amateur gardener, and C. H. Middleton , the professional, ever ready to give sound advice.
It will be remembered that
Grisewood has made himself a garden in Surrey out of a piece of meadow, and in six broadcasts, the last of which was given in July, he asked Middleton's advice on some of the difficulties he has had to face. Today he will put to him some of the problems that have cropped up since, and any other questions he has time to ask concerning winter in the garden and the outlook for the spring.

Lalo's Symphony in G minor is dedicated to his friend Charles Lamoureux , the founder of the famous Concerts Lamoureux, which are still a feature of Parisian musical life. It was first performed at one of these concerts with Lamoureux conducting, on February 13, 1887, and was very favourably received. The music is straightforward and clear, and a good example of Lalo's orchestral style.
' Forty-five years in Labrador '

The Moravians were the first to send missionaries to the slaves in the West Indies, their pioneers arriving there in 1731, and today their missionaries are engaged in quiet but important and effective work in many parts of the world. As long ago as 1771 they started work among the Eskimos of Labrador.
Today's speaker is a Moravian missionary who has just retired after forty-five years' work there. He will speak of his experiences ; of the religious, educational, and social endeavours of the mission ; and of the isolation in which he and his companions worked on these bleak coasts for so long-an isolation that is being mitigated to some extent by modern inventions such as wireless communication.

Mr. Asquith and the House of Lords

The greatest parliamentary struggle within living memory began in November 1909, with the rejection of Mr. Lloyd George 's budget by the House of Lords. Mr. Asquith's Liberal Government took up the constitutional challenge and for twenty-one months war to ' the knife and fork' was waged against the peers. After two fiercely contested elections and the death of King Edward VII the Parliament Act was at last introduced in February, 1911 : its purpose was to confine the Lords to a suspensory veto upon legislation.
Tile Lords amended it out of all recognition, and Mr. Asquith then played his last card, with the threat to create five hundred peers, if necessary, so as to pass the bill. He was shouted down in furious scenes in the House of Commons, and on August 7 a vote of censure was moved on the Government. Listeners will hear something of the dramatic verbal duel which took place that night between those two great parliamentarians, Balfour and Asquith.

ST. MARTIN'S Christmas FUND

The St. Martin's Christmas Fund was started by the late ' Dick ' Sheppard many years ago. It enables Mr. McCormick to send gifts to people all over the British Isles whose circumstances are known either to him or to other responsible persons.
Apart from the cost of printing and sending receipts, and of acknowledging donations, the fund has no office expenses, as all the clerical work is done for Mr. McCormick by voluntary workers.
