' At a Manorial Court'
RHODA POWER
Centuries ago the lord of the manor was a far more important man than he is today. At certain times in the year, for instance, the lord or his steward held a special court of justice where delinquents were tried and sentenced. The manorial court had other uses as well : disputes were settled there, and if a man wanted to take over a piece of land inherited from a relation, he had to appear before the court, swear to be loyal to the lord of the manor, and pay a fine. Listeners will hear all about these courts, and may overhear what took place at one of them.

R. C. GARRY , M.B., Ch.B., D.Sc. Professor of Physiology in University College, Dundee, the University of St. Andrews
Only by union with oxygen can the energy stored in food be liberated. To this end, oxygen must be taken into the body.
This lesson describes the lungs and the muscles of respiration, showing how, hy their aid, the body obtains oxygen. The manner of removing carbon dioxide-a waste gas-will also be mentioned.

A few Reminiscences by ALBERT WHELAN
Accompanied at the Piano by ALAN PAUL
Listeners will not have a chance of seeing Albert Whelan 'take off his gloves with that inimitable nonchalance of his, but probably they will smile with anticipation when they hear his whistled signature tune-the tune with which he has been identified ever since 1901.
Whelan, a broadcaster of nearly ten years' standing, has been headlined at music-halls all over the world. His first professional appearance was in a tent on the Australian goldfields. Since then, in his own words, he has played in everything except Shakespeare He has appeared in several films, for instance ; and has another claim to fame as the Alexander of the popular Alexander-and-Mose act.
