At the Organ of the Paramount Theatre,
Manchester
Henry Croudson, who broadcasts from the organ of the Paramount Cinema, Manchester, today, is a Leeds man, and held two cinema organ appointments in that city before crossing the Pennines some six months ago. Like so many of his contemporaries, he started his musical career as a church organist, learning to play at St. Chad's, Leeds, and afterwards becoming organist at the oldest church in the city, St. John s. He continued to hold the latter appointment after he had started cinema work. and, in fact, relinquished it only two years ago. Not only an organist, Henry Croudson is also a pianist of note-he once broadcast a piano recital from the old Leeds Station-and not long ago for a wager he started an accordion band of unemployed men, which proved a great success in Yorkshire.

Talks for Listeners at Leisure in the afternoon
GEORGE M. L. DAVIES
The speaker this afternoon, George M. L. Davies , has worked for many years in unemployed clubs in the Rhondda. In this talk he intends to deal with the average individual's outlook on politics from rather a novel angle. Big questions of national importance, he thinks, tend to overshadow almost to the point of eclipse intimate political matters such as appear more closely connected with the welfare of the ordinary man and woman.

Fred Hartley first introduced Brian Lawrence to the microphone as a vocalist for his Novelty Quintet. He was an immediate success. Since then he has broadcast very frequently, including shows with Carroll Gibbons and ' The Air-do-Wells '. The Lansdowne House band which will be heard tonight is his own combination.
Bom in Australia, Lawrence made his stage debut, in pantomime, at the age of eight. His first part of importance in England was juvenile lead in a tour of the revue White Birds. Now, of course,. he is one of the most popular light singers in the country.
