on National Programme Daventry

View in Radio Times

Fred Hartley first introduced Brian Lawrence to the microphone as a vocalist for his Novelty Quintet. He was an immediate success. Since then he has broadcast very frequently, including shows with Carroll Gibbons and ' The Air-do-Wells '. The Lansdowne House band which will be heard tonight is his own combination.
Bom in Australia, Lawrence made his stage debut, in pantomime, at the age of eight. His first part of importance in England was juvenile lead in a tour of the revue White Birds. Now, of course,. he is one of the most popular light singers in the country.
