' Canada or New France ? '

This is the first talk by Miss Rhoda Power since he, return from America. She will be in charge of all the History broadcasts this term.
Canada was called New France because it was ' as good and as temper ate as France and on the same latitude '. Hence the title of today's talk ' Canada or New France ? ' It was Jacques Cartier , a Breton sailor, who explored it in the sixteenth century. And today schools are to hear about the early pathfinders and the rival English and French traders.
