by MIRIAM LICETTE (soprano) WINIFRED SMALL (violin)
Miriam Licette was one of the first artists heard by listeners; she made her first broadcast in 1922. She has had an extensive operatic career, making her début in Rome in Madam Butterfly, after studying with Madame Marchesi in Paris, and studying opera in Milan.
She made her London d6but under
Sir Thomas Beecham , who later engaged her for a season of opera in English at the Shakespeare Theatre, where she appeared as Juliet on the opening night.
Since then, she has been heard much in opera, both at Covent Garden and in the provinces, while listeners have heard her over the microphone frequently in the last twelve years.
