Mr. K. C. BOSWELL : 'From Barter to Credit'
Mr. Boswell, assisted by Baron Rollo , Mr. Pepys, and the Lancashire cotton-spinner, shows how the complicated modern system of credit has grown out of the primitive system of barter. He illustrates the development from barter to coinage, from coinage to paper-credits, with instances from the Middle Ages, the gold mines, the gold-smiths and silversmiths and the Bank of England.

Nearly ten thousand copies of the special pamphlet issued in connection with the course have been distributed. The material of the lessons is almost entirely in Spanish, and is sufficiently varied to be of use to students of all stages. The textbook used is The New Spanish Reader, by L. A. Wilkins (Harrap, 3/6). - .
