Mr. HOWARD MARSHALL : ' The Higher the Fewer'
There should be a big public for the sports talks this winter, in which record-holders in such varied sports as billiards, horse-racing, bicycling, shooting, golf, motor-racing and boxing will come to the microphone to tell how they train for and achieve their triumphs. Today Mr. Howard Marshall introduces the series with some general . thoughts on record seeking and breaking.

The B.B.C. Theatre Orchestra under the direction of S. KNEALE KELLEY, will play during the programme
Tonight's programme of studio Variety brings several old favourites back to the microphone. George Buck is a rousing comedian well used to broadcasting. Foster Richardson (bass) and Gaby Valle (soprano) are singers of distinction. Dorothy Ward, the musical comedy star who made such a hit in the Radiolympia programmes, broadcasts for the first time since August. Chick Farr, assisted by Bert Farland, is one of the finest exponents today of the humours of the 'dude.' Elsie and Doris Waters, creators and impersonators of the Cockney sisters, Gert and Daisy, return after their recent success in the Ashley Sterne revue, London Bells. Max and Harry Nesbitt, with their rapid gags, ukulele playing, and topical songs, are broadcasting artists of the first class. The whole bill, with the expert assistance of the B.B.C. Theatre Orchestra, promises well-varied entertainment.
