5.15 Tunes for a Sunday afternoon sung by the Kirkintilloch Children's
Choir
This all-kilted choir is a discovery of Sir Hugh Roberton , conductor of the famous Glasgow Orpheus Choir. Sir Hugh heard them first in a musical festival, and shortly afterwards the choir gave its first broadcast in a children's religious service. The choir's conductor, the Rev. John R. Macpherson , is a minister in Kirkintilloch.

As in previous broadcasts in this series, a number of people will be in the studio this evening, though on this occasion they will be mostly women - women who have lived in Nazi Germany, who know about home life under Hitler, about social life and entertainment and the talk in cafes, and above all about those aspects of private life that must be kept secret from the dreaded Gestapo.

An appeal by Admiral Sir Edward Evans , K.C.B., D.S.O. (Evans of the Broke), on behalf of Boys' Organisations
Six organisations, with different methods but with one purpose, unite in this appeal. The organisations are the Boys' Brigade, the Church Lads' Brigade, the National Association of Boys' Clubs, the National Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs, the Welsh League of Youth, and the Y.M.C.A. National Boys' Department.
