Sophie Wyss was born near Neuchatel, on the borders of French-speaking and German-speaking Switzerland, and in consequence she has a wide repertoire of German lieder and French songs. She is also able to sing with perfect understanding in English, Italian, Spanish, and Russian. She studied at the Geneva Conservatoire and made her debut as Eurydice in Gluck's Orpheus and Eurydice. Since her marriage to an Englishman, she has settled in England.
She is particularly interested in the works of the younger school of British song-writers, among whom are Benjamin Britten. Alan Raws -thorne. Walter Leigh , Lennox Berke ley. Elizabeth Maconchy , and Elizabeth Lutyens. All the vocal works of Benjamin Britten have been written for her, the first of which is the song cycle ' Our Hunting Fathers '.

Douglas Moodie auditioned Buddy Logan , who plays Bing Crosby 's part in this radio version of the popular film. Moodie wanted the perfect Crosby voice, and in fifteen seconds knew he had found it. Buddy has studied Crosby for years, claims that there is not a manner or inflection that he has not got ' pat.' He is a nephew of Ella Logan , famous for her swing settings of Scottish and other songs.

Wilfrid Parry (pianoforte) Mozart's sonata, composed in 1781, is in three movements. Ravel's Violin Sonata, composed between 1923 and 1927, is in three movements, the second of which he calls ' Blues '. It is interesting to note that Joseph Shadwick gave the first performance in America with the composer at the piano.
