DOCUMENTARY OF THE WEEK
New series 1/4. The target of John Betjemen's friendly bombs and reckoned to be one of the 50 worst places to live in the UK, it's fair to say that the Berkshire town of Slough has a bit of an image problem; it's hardly surprising, then, that some of its folk are feeling a bit glum. In this intriguing social experiment, six experts in disciplines ranging from psychology to economics set out to raise happiness levels in the town. Will a "two-for-one" giveaway on flowers win a smile? A good old sing-song? Or how about that tried-and-tested banisher of the black dog - "graveyard therapy"? With strong language.
