In one of three very different challenges this week, lain and Ellen have to find where the epicentre was and work out its magnitude. Kathy and Jonathan have to design an aerial surveyor that can float over the desert. 5/6. The world of the secret agents in wartime is revealed tonight by Dick Strawbridge. He assembles a suitcase radio and makes a portable steam generator which was invented to power wireless sets used by spies in occupied Europe. He also tests the infamous "lipstick pistol" issued to KGB spies, known as the "kiss of death".

Three people are given the chance to run their country during a major crisis. Guided by Gavin Hewitt they will be helped by three experts: Air Marshal Sir Tim Garden advises on military issues; Amanda Platell, communication strategy; and former police and intelligence officer Charles Shoebridge, emergency services response.
