Drawing on archival footage and first-person interviews, this film biography tells the story of a true US icon who became America's most decorated officer during the First World War, but who was also considered arrogant and dangerous. This instalment goes up to 1937, the year he was sent to the Philippines and seemed to be the only person picking up on Japanese ambitions in the area. Concludes tomorrow 11.10am. (S)
