The Hubble space telescope was designed to help scientists to unlock the mysteries of the universe. Shortly after the 1990 launch, however, a flaw was found that rendered the $2 billion device virtually useless.
Shuttle astronauts were sent to repair it and now, nearly ten years after its launch, Hubble has finally sent back enough data to answer one of science's burning questions: how old is the universe?
